If the smell get into the hotel centralised air/cond. system, the whole hotel will smell of the fruit. And many foreign guests (and also many local guests) cannot stand the smell.

When you saw the fruit, did it smell? Those from Thailand, they pick them young and these young fruits do not have such repungent smell.

I used to like it, but I have gone off it now due to the smell, and its flesh high sugar content. And it ferments inside you, so you tend to burp a lot.

In response to:Exotic fruits

Why is it banned from hotels? With age, I am gradually learning to try and wonder why they have behaved in that way. In many cases, as I get to know them, I have found, that there is a reason for the way they acted (usually shyness) and if I hadn't given them a second chance I would have missed out. I agree with Normalguy, who am I to look down on anybody!

In response to:Tolerate

I think I learnt a lot about tolerance in prison where I was forced to mix with allsorts - the majority of whom I would never have looked at twice normally
The second came when I looked at myself, and my failings and cockups in life, and came to the conculsion - "Who am I to look down on anybody".

In response to:Tolerate

I do think a lot about this subject...makes me blush with shame on occasions when I think I've made such a value judgement, especially as I know only too well what it's like not to be included in certain people's social circle, except on the periphery, which almost worse than being rejected completely.
I was brought up in a very intolerant household, and fought all my life to rise above such blatant intolerance and snobbery, but I still find myself doing it on occasions unfortunately. It's an ongoing battle :-))Interesting post...big hugs.

In response to:Friends
Tesco, they are big aren't they? Thinking about food this early in the morning is too cruel. I am afraid that I am the sort of person who is thinking about what to have for supper at breakfast time. I am obsessed with food and cookery and am currently engaged in waging war on the evil empire - Tesco - who are responsible (along with the other major supermarkets) for causing so much damage not only to our diet but to our towns and cities. This could easily turn into a page long tirade so I'd better shut up now. Sorry Lias. Think I need to start a new blog on this.

In response to:When men go to their Doctors.

good one...make me laugh!
